Safeguarding Commitment
I am fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. I take all concerns seriously and act promptly where there is a risk of harm.
My practice follows current UK safeguarding legislation and guidance, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.

As an independent Specialist Teacher Assessor, I provide assessment and consultation services.
I have a professional responsibility to:
- Remain vigilant for signs of abuse or neglect.
- Respond appropriately to disclosures.
- Record concerns accurately.
- Report safeguarding concerns to the relevant authorities when necessary.
I undertake regular safeguarding training and maintain an enhanced DBS certificate.
If a safeguarding concern arises:
If a child or vulnerable adult discloses information indicating they might be at risk:
- I will listen calmly and without judgement.
- I will not promise confidentiality.
- I will make a factual record of what has been shared.
- I will report concerns to the appropriate safeguarding authority.
If a child or vulnerable adult is at immediate risk of harm, I will contact emergency services.
Where appropriate, concerns may be shared with:
- The designated safeguarding lead (DSL)
- Local authority childrens social care.
- Adult social care.
- The police.
Safeguarding concerns may be shared without consent, where required, to protect an individual from harm.
Online safeguarding:
Where assessments or consultations take place online:
- Secure, professional platforms are used.
- Sessions are conducted in an appropriate setting.
- Parents/Carers remain responsible for supervision where appropriate.
- Sessions are not recorded, without explicit consent.
- Communication takes place through professional channels only.
Confidentiality and Data Protection:
All personal information and assessment records are stored securely and handled in accordance with UK GDPR and the data protection act 2018.
Information will only be shared where:
- Consent has been provided, or
- There is a safeguarding concern requiring disclosure to protect an individual from harm.
Policy Review:
This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it reflects current legislation and best practice.
